What does the Tango do with the Berliners? Extasy, sexual desire and  lustfully dancing in an almost protestant society? Is that possible? Yes it is. It seems, that hundreds of Tango teachers changed the life in the German capital. On the world record list of biggest Tango cities Berlin became number two after Buenos Aires and before Helsinki.

You cannot only learn your lessons in a private school, but also nearly everywhere for free. People dance at the railway station, in clubs, cafes or even in front of the New Museum on a warm summer night. And where ever they do it, professional help is available. Tango is the latest hype in Berlin and everybody tries very hard.

Fairly spoken, the Berliners  have a lot of enthusiasm to learn Tango, but they do not reach the necessary level of emotions required for this kind of dancing yet. They have to understand, that Tango is a fight between two hot partners,  and it it is a long way  to execute this properly. But the teachers never give up and explain,that even deaf and dumb persons can do the Tango, when they have a feeling for the rhythm. Sven Elze, a real Tango genius, demonstrates this, when he dances the Tango, although a very loud rockband is playing right in the near.

So come to Berlin and take a chance to dive into the world of emotions. There is a chance almost every day and these are some of the upcoming events:

Berlin ist im Tango-Rausch. Wer Tango liebt, geht dafür bisher nach Buenos Aires oder Helsinki. Aber Berlin hat den Finnen den Rang abgelaufen und ist jetzt die Nummer zwei. Und wenn das so weiter geht, wird Berlin vielleicht noch Erster.

Aber so leicht wird das nicht in einer protestantisch dominierten Gesellschaft. Der eiserne Wille und der Fleiß sind da. Aber an Temperament, Leidenschaft und sexueller Extase  muss noch gearbeitet werden. Darum bemühen sich hunderte professioneller Tanzlehrer, entweder in ihren Schulen, aber auch auf öffentlichen Plätzen, in Clubs oder Cafes. Im Monat August kann man im Hauptbahnhof Profis zuschauen und dann selbst üben. Tango ist kein Gesellschaftstanz, sondern ein Kampf zweier Partner, der bereits bei der Aufforderung beginnt. Wer da schwach ist, hat schon verloren. Daher bringen die Lehrer nicht nur die Schrittfolgen und den Rhythmus bei. Sie erklären, wie man sich auf der Tanzfläche behauptet. Dazu sind eine Reihe von Atem- und Streckübungen notwendig, die einem das Gefühl für den eigenen Körper stärken. Ohne Selbstwertgefühl geht beim Tango gar nichts. Also nichts wie hin nach Berlin und Tango lernen. Gelegenheiten finden sich jeden Tag. Hier ein paar Adressen für die nächste Zeit:
